LED light info

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is LED?
A: LED (or Light-Emitting Diode), precisely said, is a special kind of diode with an electronic semi-transmitting element which emits light. LED is used as a light indicator in many technical appliances such as TVs, mobiles, different types of screens, and many other. In the last few years, the use of LED technology in lighting has become more massive. This includes every kind of LED lighting fittings such as LED tubes, LED light bulbs, floodlights, street lighting, decorative lighting and similar.
Q: What colour can LED lights emit?
A:Most LED lights are monochromatic. The colour of light comes through different wavelengths. LED diodes are made of different semi-transmitting materials which emit light at different wavelengths. LED lights emit light at wavelengths from 400 nanometres (blue) to 800 nanometres (red). The colours that are most frequent on the market are white and yellow, but we also have red, orange, green, purple and blue in stock.
Q: Can the conventional incandescent and fluorescent light be changed with a LED bulb or tube?
A: Of course it can. LED lighting becomes more and more popular both in home and industrial lighting as well as in different technologies such as the automobile industry, phone industry, LCD lighting and so on.
Q: What are the advantages of LED lighting in comparison to conventional lighting?
A: A: The advantages in LED technology in comparison to conventional lighting are enormous. Here are some of them:
  • Greater energy efficiency (75% to 90% cut in energy use)
  • Longer useful life (of over 50.000 hours)
  • Pleasant light
  • Surge resistant
  • Smaller and lighter
  • Instant light
  • Simple to use
Q: Does LED lighting have any disadvantages?
A: The cost of LED lighting is greater than that of conventional lighting, proportionally speaking 1:5 or 1:7 depending on the product and its quality. If you take into consideration that one LED tube has the lifetime of a minimum of 10 neon lights or that one LED light bulb has the lifetime of 25 conventional light bulbs and in addition, it spends up to 9 times less of the electricity used for conventional lighting, we believe that the investment pays off on the long run. The investment pays off in 4 to 6 months, and in the following 5 years you pay for much cheaper electricity.
Q: Which LED products are currently available for the customers?
A: The most popular LED products we have in stock are the LED tubes and LED light bulbs, which can be used in homes, offices, business centres, shopping centres and so on. We also have interior and exterior LED lighting, industrial LED lighting (such as floodlights and similar), LED lighting for roads, tunnels and street lighting.
